Hill House Star Oliver Jackson-Cohen Joins Haunting of Bly Manor

Hill House actor Oliver Jackson-Cohen is joining Vitoria Pedretti in the cast for the upcoming season, The Haunting of Bly Manor. Mike Flangan’s The Haunting of Hill House series was a big hit for Netflix last year, dramatically re-imagining Shirley Jackson’s source material to positive effect. The streaming giant has since announced that the show is becoming an anthology and will base its second season, Bly Manor, on Henry James’ famous 1898 horror novella, The Turn of the Screw. As a result, the next installment will feature all-new characters and settings.

What it won’t feature, thankfully, is a completely new cast. Just last month, it was announced that Hill House breakout Victoria Pedretti is returning to star in Bly Manor, with Flanagan once again calling the shots as director. While plot details are mostly being kept under-wraps for now, it has been confirmed that Pedretti will headline Bly Manor as Dani, a young governess who is hired to care for two “very unusual” children at the eponymous (and, possibly, haunted for real) estate.

The Wrap is reporting that Jackson-Cohen will star opposite Pedretti in Bly Manor as Peter, an individual who’s described as simply being a “charming fellow”. Peter is also said to be a leading character and will reportedly interact with Dani directly while she’s working at her (creepy) new job.

It’s only fitting that Jackson-Cohen and Pedretti reunite for Bly Manor; the pair played twin siblings Luke and Eleanor “Nell” on The Haunting of Hill House, and their characters shared a special connection that made it all the harder for them to recover from their traumatic childhood experiences when their family lived in Hill House. As impressive as the Hill House cast was overall, Jackson-Cohen and Pedretti had, in some ways, the most challenging roles and really stood out among the talented ensemble for it. Filmmakers have clearly taken notice of them too, as evidenced by Jackson-Cohen having also been recently cast as The Invisible Man in Universal’s reboot.

Now that Jackson-Cohen and Pedretti are back for Bly Manor, though, it will be interesting to see what other Hill House cast members end up returning for this new installment. Carla Gugino, who played Luke and Nell’s mother Olivia, has confirmed that she and Flangan (who’ve worked together multiple times already) have discussed it, so there’s a real possibly that she too will sign on down the line. Who knows: if there are enough roles to go around and things work out scheduling-wise, the entire Crain family may yet reunite for a second round of Haunting together.

Chris Hemsworth Joins Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

Chris Hemsworth is joining the cast of Kevin Smith’s upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The film is a sequel of 2001’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which was the first standalone film for the titular duo played by Jason Mewes and Smith himself.

Smith’s View Askewniverse started with the low-budget, black and white comedy Clerks in 1994, and later included everything from Mallrats to Dogma. Jay and Silent Bob appear in all of these films, and eventually starred in their own film, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Now, Smith is bringing the stoner duo to a feature film yet again with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, in which they attempt to stop Hollywood from rebooting Bluntman and Chronic, a comic book first introduced in Chasing Amy. With an already massive cast that includes Joe Manganiello, Rosario Dawson, and Jason Lee, yet another major talent is joining the film.

Chris Hemsworth announced on Instagram that he’ll be joining Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. He posted a series of photos of himself and Smith in front of a green screen, with the caption: “The man, the myth, the legend. The one and only @thatkevinsmith !!! Stoked to be a part of his next film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. What a pleasure it was hanging out mate.” However, despite the handful of pictures, the extent of his involvement is so far unknown. Check out his Instagram post below:

Though most details surrounding Jay and Silent Bob Reboot may be under wraps, it’s no mystery that the truly secret project with which Hemsworth is involved is Avengers: Endgame. Interestingly enough, it turns out that Smith’s View Askewniverse actually exists within the MCU. The script for Mallrats gets a quick – and significant – cameo during a major action sequence in Captain Marvel.

As for Hemsworth joining the View Askewniverse, the actor is no stranger to comedy. Even though he made a name for himself as an action star in the MCU, he proved his comedic chops in Thor: Ragnarok including a short film titled Team Thor – and then he went full slapstick in the Ghostbusters remake before his brief appearance in Vacation. With Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Hemsworth is showing audiences that he has no intention of taking himself too seriously, which looks to be the case yet again in Men in Black International.

Tyrese Gibson Joins Morbius’ Movie Cast, Character Details Revealed

Tyrese Gibson is joining the cast of Morbius, and character details for the entire ensemble have now been revealed. Sony is unsurprisingly moving full steam ahead with their Spider-Man-less spinoff universe after Venom became one of 2018’s biggest box office surprises. A sequel to the Tom Hardy hit is in development, but next up will be the Jared Leto starring Morbius.

The film will see Leto take on the role of Marvel Comics anti-hero Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who becomes a vampire after trying to cure his rare blood disease. Sony has spent the last few months filling up the supporting cast around Leto, with Adria Arjona being the first to join. Leto and Arjona were later joined by Matt Smith, but the most recent addition came with Jared Harris coming aboard the project. Now, Morbius has added another recognizable name, with details on the entire cast’s characters also surfacing.

Related: Sony’s Three Spider-Man Universes Explained

According to a new report by Variety, Tyrese Gibson has joined the cast of Morbius. Gibson is best known for his role as Roman in the Fast & Furious franchise. Details on his character first appeared to be under wraps, but THR has shared that Gibson will play an FBI agent who’s trying to hunt down Leto’s living vampire. In addition to sharing Gibson’s role, THR also confirmed that Arjona is playing Leto’s love interest, Harris is his mentor, and Smith will be Morbius’ best friend turned villain Loxias Crown.

Since the blood lust from Morbius and Crown will force them to leave a trail of victims as they try to survive, Gibson will likely be in charge of trying to solve the various murders. Meanwhile, Arjona has long been expected to be playing Martine Bancroft, Morbius’ fiancée in the comics, so this is just further confirmation that that’s the case. Loxias Crown has likewise been linked to Morbius in the past as the main villain, but it’s good to know Smith is definitely playing that part. Harris being Morbius’ mentor is the newest piece of information, but no character name has been revealed.

All of this information comes as Morbius has already begun filming and Leto has shared a first look at the production. Gibson appears to be the last main addition to the film’s cast though, so the only additional casting announcements at this point could be for minor roles. Filming will continue for the next several weeks as Morbius aims to stay on track for a summer 2020 release, and there’s been nothing but positive movement on the film so far.

Seth Rogen Joins The Twilight Zone Reboot Cast

Seth Rogen has joined the cast of Jordan Peele and CBS All Access’ The Twilight Zone revival series. The original Twilight Zone was an anthology that aired from 1959-64 and was narrated by the series’ creator, Rod Serling. A Twilight Zone movie was released in 1983 – featuring segments directed by Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante, John Landis, and George Miller – and there have been two previous revivals of the show itself, in 1985 and 2002.

CBS and Peele’s Twilight Zone, much like the original series, will be an anthology that combines a variety of genres (sci-fi, horror, mystery, satire) with social commentary and, most likely, twist endings that teach a moral lesson. The show’s marketing really kicked off with The Twilight Zone Super Bowl LII teaser trailer, before a full-length trailer was released near the end of February. There have been additional casting updates of late too, with Ginnifer Goodwin among those recently confirmed for the series.

Related: Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone Trailer: Expect the Unexpected

Rogen is the latest official addition to The Twilight Zone cast, thanks to the following tweet posted to the show’s Twitter account. The account also re-tweeted a photo of Jacob Tremblay with Rogen from February 21, which was accompanied by the caption “Just a couple of Canadian Good Boys! We got something coming & I think you’re gonna like it…” Reading between the lines, it seems that Tremblay – who was confirmed for the revival back in December – will appear in the same Twilight Zone episode as Rogen.

Tremblay is starring in a Twilight Zone episode that’s reportedly titled “The Wunderkind” and features both John Cho and Allison Tolman in supporting roles. The episodes was rumored to be titled “Kid President” early on and described as being a satire about a, well, kid (Tremblay) who runs to become the U.S. president. “The Wunderkind”, or whatever it ends up being called, is still expected to be more comedic than serious, which makes Rogen’s casting all the more appropriate.

Rogen, by coincidence, is also costarring in this May’s Long Shot, a political comedy about a journalist (Rogen) who begins courting his former babysitter (Charlize Theron) – the current U.S. secretary of state and a frontrunner for the presidency. The actor has mostly done comedy in the past, but showed off his dramatic chops in the Steve Jobs biopic and will do so again in the upcoming Trial of the Chicago 7 (which Steve Jobs writer Aaron Sorkin is directing). He’s another worthy addition to The Twilight Zone‘s ensemble, whatever the nature of his role ends up being.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Persona 5’s Joker Joins as DLC

As one of the most anticipated games of 2018, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is packed with characters from a number of different franchises. There are already a total of 75 playable characters in Ultimate – one of which will be the limited-timed, free-to-download Piranha Plant – but the paid-for Fighters Pass DLC is set to add a further five fighters (each with a stage and corresponding music) into the fray.

The identities of these characters still largely remain unknown, but during the 2018 The Game Awards it was confirmed that the first downloadable newcomer in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be Persona 5‘s Joker.

Related: Super Smash Bros Ultimate Preview: The Best Party Game Of The Generation

Not much is known about how the character will actually play, but the reveal trailer delivered the exact information that Nintendo had intended it to. Truthfully, it’s a great marketing play for the company, as the information arrived just hours before its blockbuster fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, is set to be available worldwide on Nintendo Switch.

It only adds to the excitement that the unique style of the Persona series is perfectly captured in the big Smash reveal, but fans can check it out for themselves below:

The release date for Joker is still up in the air, but the Persona 5 protagonist will likely be joining the fray after Piranha Plant arrives around February 2019. With Joker will be a brand-new stage, presumably based on a locale in Persona 5, as well as some music from the franchise. Given that the series is known to feature some solid tunes, these should blend in well with the orchestral smorgasbord that’s already present in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

What’s most interesting about the reveal is that Nintendo of America’s President, Reggie Fils-Aime, hinted at the remaining four characters that would be joining the fray. He stated that these characters were meant to surprise players, which would indicate that longtime favorites for Super Smash Bros. like Geno may not be in the cards this time around.

Then again, perhaps just the majority will be out-there characters, while an underdog like Waluigi will finally have his day. Whatever the end roster looks like, fans can find solace in knowing that Ronald McDonald will not be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate anytime soon – or probably ever.

Star Trek’s New Spock Revealed in Discovery Season 2 Trailer at NYCC

A new trailer for season 2 of Star Trek Discovery debuted at New York Comic-Con this weekend, offering a first look at Ethan Peck as Spock and promising a universe full of new adventures. The panel also confirmed that the show is set to return to CBS All Access in January 2019.

Starring Sonequa Martin-Green as disgraced Starfleet officer Michael Burnham, Star Trek Discovery premiered last year on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access, to encourage fans to sign up for the streaming platform. Season 1 was a wild ride, featuring a giant space tardigrade, the Mirror Dimension, and a major character twist. It also ended on a tantalizing cliffhanger, with the Discovery receiving a distress signal from none other than Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise.

Related: Star Trek Discovery Klingon Look Will Change In Season 2

Anson Mount (Inhumans) joins Star Trek Discovery season 2 as Captain Pike, while Michael’s adoptive brother Spock will be played by Ethan Peck (The Honor List). Given that both of these characters have a long history in the Star Trek franchise, fans have been eager to see Discovery’s take on Pike and Spock – and now they finally can. Also revealed in the trailer is Rebecca Romijn (X-Men) as Number One, telling Pike to “be careful.” Check out the trailer for Star Trek Discovery season 2 below:

In addition to revealing Spock in the trailer, CBS also shared an official photo of Peck’s character:

There were plenty of interesting reveals during the Star Trek Discovery panel at NYCC, including the tidbit that the home planet of Saru’s (Doug Jones) species, the Kelpians, is called Kaminar. The crew will visit Kaminar in season 2, and we’ll get to meet Saru’s sister, Sarana. Saru had a complicated relationship with Michael in season 1 – acting coldly towards her after her act of mutiny, but eventually warming to her again and growing to respect her strong moral compass. The season 2 trailer indicates that Saru and Michael will grow even closer in a clip where Michael holds Saru’s hand and tells him, “You are my family.”

The trailer also sets up a season 2 arc related to Spock and Michael having visions of a “Red Angel,” which is apparently the “biggest mystery of the season” and “appears to Burnham at a very critical moment.” The Red Angel may be connected to the seven signals mentioned in the trailer, but Martin-Green and Peck stayed tight-lipped when asked for more clues about what these mean. Color us intrigued…

20 Twilight Fan Castings Better Than What We Got In The Movies

Casting perfectly for a single film is important; casting perfectly for a film that will spawn a five-film saga is vital. Not every casting decision for a film franchise is going to be perfect. Even renowned franchises such as the MCU, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings have actors in roles that didn’t quite suit them or where there was an even more perfect casting decision staring them in the face.

Finding the perfect cast for a film is much harder than most people give these casting director’s credit for. All they have to go off of is the script, the director’s vision, and possibly (luckily for many big blockbusters) the source material. It’s even harder when adapting a book series whose fans have been picturing the characters in their heads for years.

Finding the perfect cast after a film’s complete is much more fun, even if it has no real impact. Though films are often recast when remade (A Star is Born) or when sequels are released and the original cast doesn’t return (The Girl in the Spider’s Web) it’s fun to still find that perfect cast when there’s no remake/sequel in sight. The Twilight Saga’s cast has been ridiculed and spoofed more than most franchises; some criticism warranted, some not. Fans took to the internet, as they’re known to do, with their ideal picks for who they think the cast of The Twilight Saga should have been.

Without further ado, here are 20 Twilight Fan Castings Better Than What We Got.

20 Rosie Huntington-Whitley As Rosalie Hale

Rosie Huntington-Whitley is more known for her runway walks and magazine covers than for her filmography, but she has three acting entries under her IMDb page; a 2009 short, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Mad Max: Fury Road.  Her resume  may be short, but it surely consists of some prominent movies. Her modeling career on the other hand, is one of the most prestigious and fruitful in the world.

While Nikki Reed may have been fine in retrospect for the character’s lack of screen-time in comparison to the other Cullen members, a woman with the following of Huntington-Whitley could added a higher profile cast member for the film.

19 Tom Sturridge As Edward Cullen

Robert Pattinson may be one of the few casting decisions the original filmmakers made that most fans are pretty okay with. A certain fan had a different actor they thought could have played the part a little bit better; Tom Sturridge.

Casting him with a certain actress who we’ll touch on a bit later, the On the Road and Far from The Madding Crowd actor has a lot in common with Pattinson himself.

Both men were born in London, both were in the 2004 drama Vanity Fair, and birth dates are less than six months apart.

Sturridge’s career never quite took off the way it should have, something that a leading role in a billion-dollar franchise surely could have helped.

18 David Harbour As Charlie Swan

Since his role as Eleven’s guardian in Stranger Things, Harbour has been branded as one of the best character actors to play a loving and concerned father. Billy Burke is one of the few who many fans actually thought fit the role well, but Harbour would have been such a fun and comedic addition. Many may think that Harbour would be too old to play Bella’s dad; those fans would be hard-pressed to learn that Burke is actually nine years Harbour’s senior.

Harbour has for many years been a supporting actor in films like Suicide Squad, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and End of Watch; another supporting role such as Charlie Swan would have been just perfect for the actor.

17 Angelina Jolie As Victoria

Victoria had already been replaced once, so why not do it again? Rachelle Lefevre played the red-haired vampire who was part of the coven that homes James and Laurent in the first two films, but then was blindsided when recast and portrayed by future Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard for Eclipse.

The books characterize Victoria as a beautiful and strong woman, adjectives that describe Angelina Jolie quite perfectly.

As of late, Jolie has focused her time more behind the camera then in front of it, but having her play the part would have been quite exciting, especially standing next to a vampiric Ben Stiller.

16 Ben Stiller As James

James, while not the most important figure in the saga, was the main antagonist of the first film. When his coven stumbles upon the Cullen’s and Bella playing a pretty athletic game of baseball, he decides that the human will be his next meal, causing Edwards and his family to go to vast lengths to protect her.

While Cam Gigandet may have had the physique for James, Ben Stiller’s rendition of the vampire would have given the character new depth.

Stiller’s dramatic work is pretty scarce, but having acted in film like The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Brad’s Status prove he’d be able to handle it. Stiller’s one of the biggest movie stars in the world, so getting him would have been no easy task, but could have brought something unique to the film.

15 Millie Bobbie Brown As Jane

Some might say that Millie Bobbie Brown is far too young to play the millennia old vampire, but the character was turned at the age of 12. Brown would have been far too young during the original films– she was five during Jane’s first appearance in New Moon– but she would be perfect now.

The young actress has obtained fame from her portrayal as Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things, though look for her soon in the Godzilla sequel, Godzilla: King of Monsters and its crossover event Godzilla vs. Kong. Jane’s supposed to be a mysterious character with an old soul, something that Brown portrays brilliantly throughout the first two seasons of Stranger Things.

14 Shiloh Fernandez As Edward Cullen

Shiloh Fernandez may not be the most well-known actor out there, but then again, neither was Rob Pattinson when he was cast as Edward more than a decade ago. As featured on one of the greatest website names of all time, otherguysasedwardcullen-blog.tumblr.com, Shiloh would have made a great Edward, after some make-up work done to make him look a little less alive.

The Utah-born actor is roughly the right age, and as seen in the picture above, looks quite convincing as a vampire when his eyes are brightened and yellowed, with his skin a bit paler, like most of the Cullen’s.

13 Liv Tyler As Esme Cullen

Though she’s been rather absent from the big screen since playing Ed Norton’s love interest in the MCU’s The Incredible Hulk, she’s still etched in cinephiles minds for her roles in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Strangers, and (less so) Armageddon.

Tyler looks like she was born to play a vampire, and it’s a shame she’s never been given the opportunity.

Esme is a pretty small role in relation to the other Cullens, but  Tyler could have maybe brightened up the role a bit, or at the very least, given the family a more familiar feel for viewers.

12 Hugh Jackman As Garrett

The second best cast role in the saga– we’ll talk about the first in just a bit– is none other than a small character named Garrett played by the brilliant Lee Pace. Garrett is vampire who joins the Denali coven at the end of Breaking Dawn when he and Kate begin to form a relationship.

The only way that Lee Pace could be outdone is if one of the most beloved actors of our time replaced him: Hugh Jackman.

Jackman spent a movie hunting vampires back in 2004 with the critically berated Van Helsing, so maybe joining them would be more his suit. Classy as all could be, the Jackman above (provided by Nocuus) would have been perfect for Garrett, a man who was changed in mid 18th century New England.

11 Anton Yelchin As Mike Newton

This one, awfully unfortunately, will never be able to come to fruition because of a tragic accident which resulted in Anton Yelchin losing his life at the age of 27. Mike was played by Michael Welch, but Yelchin would have been the perfect age, and perfect casting for the role. Welch actually auditioned for the role of Edward, but ended up being cast as Mike after Pattinson was brought aboard.

The nice guy from high school is more or less exactly who Yelchin was born to play, and imagining him trying to hold Bella’s hand at the movies is textbook teenage romance that feels just right with Yelchin. Yelchin, like Jackman, isn’t a stranger to vampire films, having starred in the remake of Fright Night. Yelchin’s untimely passing came right at the height of his fame, and a Twilight film would have added right to it.

10 Lily Collins As Alice Cullen

Lily Collins actually auditioned for Twilight, but for the role of Bella; “I think everything happens for a reason and everyone who gets the roles they get were meant to.”

Collins has the flowing movement that Greene brought to the performance, but could have come off a bit more authentic in her compassion.

Greene was not been the worst actress in the franchise, but Collins would have potentially been a step up from the unexperienced performer. Greene’s career never took off quite like Collin’s did, which makes the films down the line seem a bit more dated when new viewers can’t recognize the fourth-billed lead; something that casting Collins could have changed.

9 Hugo Weaving as Aro

Michael Sheen wasn’t just the best casting of any of the actors in the franchise with his turn as Aro, but he gave the best performance from anyone, and even liked the source materia, Sheen may have been flawless, but another actor could have the potential to have done better; that man is Hugo Weaving. Though Aro is much younger than both Sheen and Weaving in the novels, both actors are very similar in age.

Like Liv Tyler, Weaving is famous for his part in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as the Wichowskis’ Matrix trilogy. Hugo’s vampire transformation above is a very reminiscent of his Elvish lineage in LOTR, but also extremely similar to Aro’s Volturi attire in the Twilight Saga.

8 Alexander Skarsgård As Emmett Cullen

Either it’s a coincidence that so many of the fan casting decisions were previously in vampire films/TV shows, or there is just an abundance of vampire films/TV shows. Alexander Skarsgård played Eric Northman on HBO’s cult vampire drama True Blood. Though he initially played the show’s antagonist, he was the favorite amongst fans and had far and away the most successful career after the show.

Standing at 6′ 4”,the Stockholm born actor has a much more towering physique than Kellan Lutz, who played Emmett in the films.

As he already plays brooding and mysterious extremely well, letting Skarsgård show a comedic soft side would have given the actor the chance to stretch his wings.

7 Rachel McAdams As Rosalie Hale

Rising to fame four years before the first films release with her starring role in The Notebook and near-perfect teenage antagonist in Mean Girls, McAdams has had an incredible career in the 15 years since; including an Oscar nomination for Spotlight. The inclusion of a renowned thespian like McAdams would have been a welcome addition for the filmmakers as well as the fans.

McAdams may be, and have been back in 2008, a little old to play a vampire who was turned at the age of 18. However she played a high schooler at the age of 26 for Mean Girls, so just a few years more later wouldn’t have been much more of a stretch.

6 Henry Cavill As Carlisle Cullen

Henry Cavill may not have been the household name back then that he is now due to his DCEU fame, but Twilight could have been that jumpstart he needed.

Though Cavill may have had a hand in pretty huge blockbusters with Man of Steel, Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Mission Impossible: Fallout, he had been in only one mainstream film pre 2010; Stardust.

Had they stayed faithful to the books, Cavill would have been a perfect casting.

With Carlisle being the make-shift patriarch of the Cullen coven, the filmmakers wanted to go with someone a bit older than the character in the books.

5 Amber Midthunder as Leah Clearwater

Leah is the only female shapeshifter in Quileute history, and played by Native actress Julia Jones. Jones is an incredible actress, but newcomer Amber Midthunder has thrusted onto the scene after appearing in Hell or High Water and FX’s Legion.

Leah is 21 in the books, thus Midthunder is the perfect age to play the young woman, if the film were to come out today.

Acting in both Sunshine Cleaning and Swing Vote in 2008, the actress was already in high profile films the same year of the first film’s release. Midthunder’s a fan favourite on Legion, so expect the young lady to take off in the future; who knows, maybe even in a remake of Twilight.

4 Steven Strait As Jacob Black

Taylor Lautner became an overnight sensation with the success of the Twilight films, but no one could deny that the actor’s performance lacked authenticity. Steven Strait may not be any more of a household name than Lautner was, but the actor had already starred in his own film, something Lautner hadn’t done when first cast.

Strait starred in the Roland Emmerich vehicle 10,000 BC, which didn’t get rave reviews but gave the actor the experience of being first billed. Strait may be a bit older than Lautner, but that maturity and experience surely would have helped the character command a scene.

3 K.J. Apa as Edward Cullen

Riverdale may be a new show, but the Netflix series is a refreshing and original way to adapt a beloved medium. K.J. Apa shines as Archie, the title character of the original comics and his personality and way he carries himself on the show would be downright perfect for the sensitive and loving vampire.

Apa is still a relative newcomer to the scene, but with Riverdale under his belt and a role in the new drama The Hate U give he’s turning himself into a familiar face. Pattinson was a fine Edward and his career has surely taken off since ending his tenure as a vampire, but he may have been a bit happier had someone else taken the role.

2 Emily Browning As Bella Swan

Emily Browning was infamously author Stephanie Meyer’s first choice to play the role of Bella, though it obviously didn’t come to fruition. The young actress who appeared in A Series of Unfortunate Events, Sucker Punch, and Sleeping Beauty has had a very successful career by anyone’s standard, though has never been in a film quite as popular as Twilight.

The actress had this to say during a 2011 Indiewire interview: “The author at one point stated that I would be her ideal Bella, but I chose not to audition because I was at a point in my career where I wasn’t sure I wanted to work, I definitely didn’t want to sign onto a trilogy so I didn’t audition.”

Of course her wishes were respected, but one could only wonder what a Twilight saga with Browning at the helm could have looked like.

1 Millie Bobby Brown As Renesmee Cullen

That’s right, Millie Bobby Brown’s on here twice. She’s just that good!

This bit of casting could have potentially happened, with Brown being just six when Breaking Dawn: Part 2 was released.

Mackenzie Foy has matured into a great actress, but her performance in the film was a little flat. Renesmee in the book seemed to be smarter than her age; more advanced than she should be. This is something Brown would excel at, having done it for two seasons in Stranger Things.

Let’s be honest, anything would have been better than the CGI Renesmee at the beginning of her the last film.

Which actor do you wish could have had a major role in The Twilight Saga? Let us know in the comments!

Chris Evans Joins Rian Johnson’s Murder Mystery Knives Out

Chris Evans has been cast in Rian Johnson’s upcoming film, Knives Out. Before the director returns to the galaxy far, far away and oversees a new Star Wars trilogy, he’s returning to his film noir roots with the aforementioned mystery/thriller. The project came together quite quickly during the Toronto International Film Festival, with Johnson recruiting Daniel Craig to portray the lead detective. It’s expected Knives Out will shoot in November, before Craig dons the tuxedo one final time for Bond 25.

Coincidentally, Evans is also reaching the end of his tenure in a high-profile franchise. Just today, the actor confirmed he wrapped reshoots on Avengers 4, seemingly saying goodbye to his iconic Captain America character. Of course, if he’s no longer involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that would free up a lot of time on his schedule to take other projects. It looks like he’s found his first post-MCU role and will team up with Craig and Johnson.

Related: Rian Johnson Is Still Working On His Star Wars Trilogy

Deadline reports Evans has signed on in a mystery role and that Knives Out will be the next movie he makes. Earlier this year, the actor was cast in Neill Blomkamp’s Greenland, but it sounds like that film will have to wait.

Since so much of Knives Out is under lock and key, it makes it difficult to predict how Evans will fit in. There are a number of roles he would be suitable for, such as a partner for Craig’s detective or even a villain. Evans’ time as Captain America demonstrated he can convincingly play a no-nonsense man of action, but he’s also been known to let loose and have some fun when the material calls for it. As such, it’ll be interesting to see what Johnson came up with, and it should be nice to see Evans stretch his acting wings a bit. Including uncredited cameos and the upcoming Avengers 4, he’s played Steve Rogers 10 times since 2011 and hasn’t had much time for other projects. He has appeared in smaller offerings like Playing it Cool and Before We Go (which he also directed), but most mainstream viewers know him as Captain America.

With Johnson continuing to develop his Star Wars trilogy, it was surprising to see that he had the opportunity to squeeze in Knives Out. That being said, Disney is planning a bit of a slowdown for the franchise following next December’s Episode IX, meaning the first episode of the Johnson Trilogy likely won’t be ready to debut until 2022 or later. Knives Out should also be a bit of a palate cleanser for the director, giving him a chance to recharge his creative batteries before diving back into the wild, crazy world of the Star Wars universe.

Honey Boo Boo Joins Dancing With the Stars Juniors

TLC’s notorious child star, Honey Boo Boo, is making her big return to TV by joining the Dancing with the Stars: Juniors cast. The young beauty pageant star – Honey Boo Boo, also known as Alana Thompson – will compete against other child stars on the Dancing with the Stars spinoff.

Honey Boo Boo became a household name after the then-six-year-old’s appearance on TLC’s reality show Toddlers & Tiaras – a series that focused on the bizarre world of child beauty pageants. Alana’s outlandish antics and odd family dynamic helped her rise to fame quickly, eventually warranting her own TV show: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Although, after a short two year stint, Alana’s dreams of stardom came to a crashing halt amidst rumors that her mother, June Shannon, had begun dating a registered sex offender. Already having filmed episodes for a fifth season, TLC aired the footage in a special called: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo: The Lost Episodes.

TVLine reports that Alana had been cast in the new Dancing with the Stars spinoff alongside Miles Brown from Black-ish, Mackenzie Ziegler from Dance Moms, and Sarah Palin’s grandson Tripp Palin, amongst others. The amalgamated cast includes a combination of child stars, young performers and also the relatives of celebrities. Judging these starlets are Olympic figure skater, Adam Rippon, This Is Us star Mandy Moore, and Dancing with the Stars regular, Val Chmerkovskiy.

Throughout its short run at TLC, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo dealt with a never-ending slew of controversies, which continue to this very day on social media. Well before the sex offender scandal, the phrase “child exploitation” practically became synonymous with the show. “Mama June”, as Alana’s mother was referred to, fed Alana a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew regularly before pageants – a decision fans criticized ad nauseam and helped earn them the reputation that they still have.

Dancing With The Stars remains a popular, beloved reality television show; undoubtedly, the juniors spinoff will capitalize on the brand’s popularity as well as the unique charm and innocence of its stars. Yet, the whispers of child exploitation that surround Alana and her family will surely begin again given the re-emergence of the – still quite young – reality show star.

Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams Joins Animated Sci-Fi Series gen:LOCK

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams is the latest to join the animated sci-fi series gen:LOCK. The Rooster Teeth series’ cast continues to grow and now includes some formidable young A-listers.

Rooster Teeth, a production company known for its animated series such as RWBY and Red vs. Blue, is bringing a brand new 3D animated series to sci-fi fans with gen:LOCK. The series combines dystopia with giant robots, following a group of young pilots who control the weaponized mecha robots in a futuristic global war. Earlier this summer, it was revealed that David Tennant of Doctor Who and Jessica Jones fame and Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed) had joined Rooster’s newest series. Dakota Fanning (The Alienist), Kōichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop), and Lindsay Jones (RWBY) are also starring as main characters in the series and were among the first actors to join gen:LOCK. Rooster Teeth officially announced Williams’ addition to gen:LOCK during the 2018 RTX London, its annual convention in the UK. A new teaser was released that gave a special sneak peek at Williams’ character, Cammie, an infamous young hacker who is one of the new recruits to the gen:LOCK program. The new teaser featured Tennant’s character, Dr. Rufus Weller, describing Cammie’s qualifications and trying to convince a Colonel to approve of Cammie’s recruitment. gen:LOCK’s creator and showrunner, Gray G. Haddock, spoke with excitement of Williams’ casting and said:

“Working with Maisie is as fun as it gets. Her energy and the sense of humor she brings to Cammie is an absolute delight. I’m running out of superlatives to describe how perfect this cast works for the characters, but Maisie truly sounds exactly like how Cammie does in my head – she’s brilliant.”

In recent years, Rooster Teeth has grown to be a significant force in animated entertainment and has been able to attract larger and larger names with each new project. Rooster Teeth has also gotten involved in the betterment of the animation community at large, sponsoring projects like the one back in 2016, where the company partnered with Chloë Grace Moretz to create a video game series and spoke on feminism in the video game community. Meanwhile, its Rooster Teeth Animation Festival has hosted exciting premieres for animated series like Netflix’s Castlevania. gen:LOCK marks the culmination of Rooster Teeth’s growth as it combines the company’s specialization in animated programming with A-list talents.

While Williams is certainly best known for portraying Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, fans are going to see her in a variety of other high profile works in the near future. Game of Thrones‘ final season will air on HBO in 2019, and Williams wrapped her very last scenes as the rebellious Arya Stark back in July. With Game of Thrones ending, Williams is setting her sights on the future and has some solid projects lined up, including but not limited to gen:LOCK. Her other most anticipated project right now is New Mutants, which, despite its delayed release, still has the potential to be one of the strongest X-Men films to date. Considering Williams’ packed work load, it will be exciting to see where the young star will take her career next with interesting genre projects like gen:LOCK.
