Division 2 Patch Making Big Changes To Skill And Weapon Mods

The Division 2 has been out for some time now, and the state of the title’s endgame has been a delight to experience. Now, the first upcoming patch for Ubisoft’s looter shooter is going to drop on April 5. Alongside a new stronghold and the latest endgame difficulty, the Division 2 patch changes are also going to tweak how skill and weapon mods work.

There’s been no shortage of endgame content for players to enjoy in Division 2, ranging from taking down elite NPCs to skirmishing with other players in the title’s variety of multiplayer-focused modes. That being said, hardcore fans have been waiting eagerly for this patch and for the Division 2 patch changes that have been mentioned previously by the development team.

It was announced in the studio’s State of the Game stream on Twitch that the upcoming Division 2 patch changes were going to specifically target skills and weapons for players. The stream mentions a full rework of those two areas of combat customization, stating that scaling is going to work in a totally different way after feedback from players indicated that meeting skill power thresholds was potentially too daunting. Weapon mods are also going to be given a bit of a facelift as part of this new patch, and it looks like the negative and positive effects of mods are going to be more balanced this time; every weapon slot is going to have at least one corresponding mod with solely positive effects.

Outside of the changes described above and the introduction of the latest endgame difficulty tier (World Tier 5), it doesn’t look like the Division 2 patch changes being made will fundamentally alter the game experience at this stage. Ubisoft will most likely be waiting until its fans have cracked into the latest content and strongholds before substantive changes are considered by the team. While the change to weapon mods has the potential currently to affect play the most significantly, it’s not a blanket removal of all negative stats on weapon slots so it shouldn’t be rocking the boat too much in terms of what players can bring to bear against others in PvP.

The patch drops tomorrow according to Ubisoft’s State of the Game stream, so players wanting to get the last bit of skill power farming done in-game don’t have long to do it before the system gets retooled. Time to suit up, agent!

Apex Legends Season 1 Wild Frontier: All The Changes In The New Patch

Although we already knew some details about the Wild Frontier battle pass in terms of cost and rewards, the patch notes delve into the nitty gritty. Despite initial excitement, Respawn has already had to defend Apex Legends’ relatively simple approach to Battle Pass compared to Fortnite’s offerings, so a complex look might help assuage fears that the developer is skimping on the latest update.

Highlights from the patch notes, shared by Respawn via Reddit, include a rundown of newcomer Octane’s abilities. The previously leaked Legend sports a Passive skill that lets him heal while not taking damage (+1 health every 2 seconds). Octane’s Tactical Stim increases his movement speed at the cost of health, but increases his resistance to slowdown attacks. Finally, Octane’s Ultimate lets him deploy jump pads launch characters across the sky.

Respawn has finally implemented a reporting feature for cheating and abusive players as well. People can report offending players either from the spectate view after dying or when viewing team Banner Cards in the Squad menu. Some bugs that have been squashed in the update include Pathfinder’s zipline failing to deploy when jumping, the ability to shoot while downed, and getting disconnected when unplugging a controller.

Quality of life includes d-pad navigation for menus and increased input customization. For example, players can now swap the actions of the bumpers/triggers on controllers. The much-touted hitbox issue has been addressed with better adjusted boxes for Gibraltar, Caustic, and Pathfinder. One neat addition is Apex Legends’ newly added support for Razer Chroma peripherals. Razer’s line of illuminated keyboards will now shine certain colors in reaction to actions performed in game. An example is that the keys will shine the same the color as the player’s skydiving smoke trail. Colors will also flash when an Ultimate is ready, change when firing or taking damage, and more.

Wild Frontier represents Respawn’s first major step in turning the already stellar Apex Legends into a game worth sticking with for the long haul. As the battle royale scene continues to heat up, it’ll be intriguing to see how Season 1 performs and what future Seasons look like after it.

    New Legend: Octane, High-Speed Daredevil

      If it doesn’t involve diving, leaping, plummeting, or racing, then Octane wants nothing to do with it. Always the life of the party, Octane truly believes winning the Championship isn’t enough…not if you didn’t cheat death at least twice to get there.

      Passive: Swift Mend

    • While not taking damage, Octane restores 1 health every 2 seconds.

      Tactical: Stim

    • Move 30% faster for 6 seconds. Costs health to use. While active, Octane is affected less by attacks that cause slowdown. 2 second recharge

      Ultimate: Launch Pad

    • Deployable jump pad that catapults players through the air. Takes 90 seconds to recharge.

    Stability & Performance

      We’ve got some fixes in this patch that will improve stability on PC but we know there are still issues out there we need to address. We also added crash reporting so we can better understand how to tackle the issues we haven’t solved yet and address future ones.

    • Capped PC FPS to 300 to balance improving stability but still letting you folks enjoy those sweet frames.
    • Addressed issue with PS4 crashes due to running out of memory.
    • Introducing better reporting when Apex crashes on PC without error message.

        Quality of Life

          • Setting this to “Minimal” can be especially helpful for players susceptible to motion sickness.
          • Customize how far you want to pull the triggers before they register.
          • Fine-tune specific aspects of the look controls for a custom feel; such as Deadzone, Response Curve, Target Compensation (aim assist), and more.
          • Shield bar drains to indicate the remaining health of the shield.
          • When you have a Gold KO Shield and are down, we’ve added an effect to the label that reminds you that you can self revive.
          • Added better color blind support for Blood Hound’s Threat Vision.
          • Colorblind colors per setting are now displayed in the settings menu.
          • Colorblind settings moved from Video Settings to Gameplay->Accessibility. They are now applied on the fly.
          • Enemy pings now use proper enemy color instead of only using red.
          • Turned down volume when Wraith activates a portal.
          • Turned down the end sounds on the Peacekeeper charged shot.
          • Turned down the draw/holster sound slightly for thermite grenades.

          Legend Balance & Hitbox Adjustments

          • Adjusted hitboxes for Gibraltar, Caustic, and Pathfinder to better align with their shapes.

          Caustic:

          • Reduced cooldown of Traps 30 -> 25 seconds.
          • Increased radius and proximity radius by about 10%.
          • Removed a 1 second delay on the smoke dealing damage to players.
          • Reduced cooldown of Gas Grenade 2:30 -> 2:00 seconds.

          Pathfinder:

              • Fixed rare issue where a player could get stuck on the drop ship and be invulnerable.
              • Patched up the hole we found in Gibraltar’s shield.
              • Fixed issue where Lifeline’s revive shield wouldn’t stay put while on a moving platform.
              • Fixed issue where sometimes players would get stuck in map geometry while skydiving from the dropship or Jump Towers.
              • Fixed bug where players could still shoot even after being downed.
              • Fixed bug where occasionally Lifeline’s D.O.C. drone would stay connected to a player but not heal them.
              • Limited the amount of Lifeline’s D.O.C. drones that can connect to a player to 2.
              • Fixed Pathfinder’s zipline not deploying when jumping.
              • Fixed a bug with the HUD where sometimes the Heal Bar would stay up if the heal was cancelled right after it was started.
              • Fixed a bug where sometimes the audio would continue to play sound FX for the Knockdown Shield even after it’s been destroyed.
              • Fixed issue where sometimes players could get disconnected when unplugging their controller during a game.
              • Fixed the exploit where you could do infinite wallclimb using Pathfinder’s Grapple.
              • Fixed bug where sometimes you couldn’t fire the Peacekeeper after riding a zip line.
              • Fixed issue where sometimes the skybox fog would not appear while spectating after you died.
              • Fixed bug where Banner Cards would show through walls occasionally when viewed through a very high FOV.
              • Fixed some odd light flickering that was happening on the ballon flags attached to Jump Towers.
              • Fixed bug where sometimes a player’s Banner Card would not show up after character select.

              Razer Chroma Support

              • Apex Legends will now detect Razer Chroma peripherals and supported devices will now play animated colors that react to things you do in the game! Some examples:
              • Red lights during banner transitions.
              • While skydiving colors will tune to the color of your smoke trail.
              • Picking up loot.
              • Opening Apex Packs
              • Firing and taking damage.
              • Colors that flash when your Ultimate is ready.

Fornite Season 7 Patch Notes: Everything You Need to Know

Fornite season 7’s patch notes reveal a number of cool additions (both literally and figuratively) for players looking to settle into the holiday season. There are brand-new locations like Frosty Flights and Polar Peak, an entirely new Battle Pass filled to bursting with new content for players to unlock as they level up, and even a new vehicle in the form of the X-4 Stormwing plane. There’s a little bit of something for every single one of Fortnite‘s 8.3 million concurrent players.

Fortnite season 7 also has a lot of smaller changes that will alter the way gamers can duke it out. Admittedly, some of the cosmetic items (like Wraps for guns and vehicles) are much more exciting than the nitty-gritty stuff, but its sounds like one of the biggest changes is still on the way for creative fans in the form of the aptly title Creative mode.

With so much to highlight, Epic Games has rolled out a teaser trailer showcasing all of the goodies that await gamers in the new patch. It’s filled with stop-motion characters, plenty of holiday cheer, and can be viewed below:

There is a ton to go over here, but one of the major highlights isn’t even part of the super-popular Battle Royale part of the game. The cooperative portion of Fornite‘s 4-player experience, Save the World’s Stand and Fight campaign, is set to reach its conclusion with Canny Valley Act 3. This features new quests to complete, new areas to explore, and a Mythic reward to unlock. Overall, there’s plenty of new content here.

Fortnite’s Creative mode is also being made available early to users that own Fortnite season 7’s Battle Pass. This window of exclusivity is only a week-long, meaning that others will be given their islands (the areas that players are able to create on) for the new endeavor on December 13. Overall, it looks to be a fun addition to the game that will provide users the opportunity to create and share new ways to play – thus growing the community. If all of that weren’t enough, the first ever flying vehicle, the X-4 Stormwing, is set to take players and their friends to the skies. Up to five people can ride on the plane simultaneously, meaning that team traversal will be a major focus in Fortnite season 7. Anyone that manages to secure one of these machine-gun equipped planes in Fortnite will be able together take in the new vistas.

New locations like Frosty Flights, Polar Peak, and Happy Hamlet are all tied to the theme of the yuletide season. Meanwhile, Wraps will allow players to customize their ride and weapons for the first time. These appear to be holiday-focused as well for the time being, but others are sure to emerge sooner rather than later. Finally, it looks as if Fortnite will have skiing and zip lining in time, but as of this patch they are nowhere to be seen. Perhaps That will change in a few weeks, but for the time bing players can find solace in taking to the skies.

GENERAL

Epic Games has updated the minimum macOS version required to run Fortnite on Mac to 10.13.6.

There are also some some optimizations for when players build structures added here.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed daily Challenge text and some other text to properly switch when changing languages.
  • Fixed a crash when terminating the game because of an error during initialization.
  • Fixed a potential performance degradation when loading content.
  • Modified the error window to use a scrolling region for overflowing text.

PERFORMANCE

Improved the data layout on Xbox One to improve loading times generally and reduce building streaming issues in Battle Royale.

UI

  • Made the Fortnite taskbar icon blink (Windows only) upon successfully entering a lobby after matchmaking if the application is minimized or inactive in the background.
  • Minimized chat text on PC and Mobile is no longer clickable. Clicking the chat entry text box will still expand the chat text as normal.

WEAPONS + ITEMS

X-4 Stormwing Plane

  • 5 total seats.
  • Seats 4 passengers (on the wings) and a pilot.
  • Has a mounted machine gun. Be careful, it can overheat.
  • Players will go into the skydiving state when exiting the X-4 Stormwing.
  • Use the roll buttons for sharp turns.
  • Pressing both will fly upside down.
  • Double tapping roll buttons will do a barrel roll.
  • Can boost and airbrake for extra mobility.

Balloons

  • Balloons have been reworked so that while they are equipped, it is possible to use weapons and items.
  • Players can attach up to 3 Balloons to their back, lifting off the ground when the 3rd Balloon is attached.
  • Press jump while in the air to release Balloons one at a time.
  • Reduced stack size from 20 to 10.

Updated scope crosshair on Scoped AR and Thermal AR.

PERFORMANCE

  • Optimized spawning pickups when a player is eliminated.
  • Optimized the performance of the Dynamite fuse.
  • Switch audio performance improvements – falling sounds no longer hitch.
  • Minor Switch rendering optimizations to help general framerate.

AUDIO

  • Reduced the volume of bullet and pickaxe impact audio on the starting island.

    Added a hit notification audio cue when a vehicle you’re riding in recieves damage.

  • Fixed an issue that would cause in-air glider audio to continue playing when eliminating a gliding player.

  • Vehicles now have a unique damage number pop color and show damage numbers.
  • Polished the Store layout to support a larger number of tiles without needing to scroll.
  • Minor update to the player feedback UI to add reporting categories and a list of other players in the current or last-played match.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Battle Pass information from being displayed in the Lobby tab for players that have not purchased a Battle Pass.

CREATIVE

This is an early release so you may experience client crashes, loss of progress, or other unexpected errors.

OVERVIEW

  • Creative Hub provides access to your own island, the islands of other friends who have joined on the server, or featured islands selected from the community.
  • Player Islands are your creative space that automatically saves.
  • Players will be able to keep a server active for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Battle Pass owners will start with 4 islands to allow for different creations. On December 13, all players will receive 4 islands.
  • Friends can visit your island and island owners can set permissions to determine if your friends can edit/build while visiting.
  • The My Island menu is accessible through the Main Menu in-game while on your island.

GAMEPLAY

Phone

  • This is the in-game tool your character holds that’s used to edit, copy, and manipulate props in the world.
  • Experiment with its features to discover all the things it can do.
  • Fly mode allows players to quickly travel around their island and create in mid-air.
  • Double jump to start flying.

My Island menu

  • The “Game” tab starts and stops player-created games. When a game is stopped your island reverts to its pre-game state.
  • You may experience functionality issues with this feature as we continue to make improvements.
  • The “Game Settings” tab sets health, fall damage, spawn location, etc and can be changed at any time through the My Island menu.
  • The “Island Tools” tab resets your island back to its original state and sets who can build on your island.

CREATIVE INVENTORY

  • Accessed from the inventory menu.
  • Inventory allows you to spawn prefabs, devices, weapons, or consumables.
  • Use Inventory to create your own chests or llamas for your island filled with items you select.
  • Prefabs are pre-made structures the player can place on their island with throwables.
  • Devices are placeable items that allow you to create games.

Players will have the ability to join in progress games with any of their Epic friends, even if they are not in a party together. Find your friend in the social panel and select Join Creative Server. Your friend must have their Privacy option set to Friends or Public to allow those who aren’t in a party to join.

REPLAYS

Replays will record the entire 4-hour play session, however, these will be saved in 30-minute individual files.

Replays are off by default and can be enabled in the settings.

MOBILE

Creative buttons added as well as a new “Creative” visibility setting. Buttons with extra functionality are in the HUD Layout Tool.

The “Creative” visibility is off in the tool by default, so buttons will be hidden until they are turned on.

Canny Valley Act 3

20 new quests bringing the Stand and Fight campaign to a dramatic conclusion!

2 new landmark zones.

Anthony, the Steel Wool drummer is a Mythic hero reward for completing the last act of Canny Valley.

Note: This is an early, work-in-progress version of the Stand and Fight campaign finale. We’re working on an ending song and video that will be added in at a later date. All added content will be retroactively available to anyone who completes the campaign.

Season 7 Warmup:

  • Hydraulic weapons, Storm Zone heroes, Scavenger weapons, and Scavenger heroes have been permanently added to the core set of Loot Llamas.
  • Mutant Storm mission alerts are now more numerous, will grant Snowflake Tickets and additional Survivor/Hero/Schematic XP when completed, and have a quota of 10 per 24 hour period.
  • Legendary Troll Stash Llamas are available in the Pinata Store and can be purchased for 1000 Snowflake tickets each.
  • Miniboss mission alerts have returned to normal.
  • Fewer are available on the map, quota of 3 per 24 hours, no event tickets.
  • Players who are at max level will now continue to earn rewards each time they earn enough XP to level up again.
  • These rewards will be retroactively granted to max level players based on the amount of XP acquired since update 6.30.
  • Reorganized Collection Book pages.
  • All event-related pages are now grouped together under the new “Event” section.
  • There is a new “Expansion” section containing all the pages for items that used to be event items but have been moved into the core set of items.

Bug Fixes

  • The Battle of Plank Harbor quest now has an accurate objective description.
  • I’m Probably Dead quest now has an accurate objective description.
  • Deeply Disturbing Simulations quest has an updated quest objective description that includes City, Suburban, or Industrial zone requirement.
  • Also, the quest items now appear properly in the world.
  • Fixed the “Uncanny!” achievement so that it requires doing all of the Story quests currently available in Canny Valley.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.01 Patch Notes: Molly Returns to Camp

Rockstar has officially released update 1.01 for its highly popular Red Dead Redemption 2 game, which includes a patch for side character Molly disappearing from camp after a certain story mission. The update comes shortly after the beta release of the game’s online-only mode, titled Red Dead Online, and aims to fix a lot of the game’s small and big glitches alike.

Red Dead Redemption 2 released in October and has proven to be an extremely popular game for Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive, shipping over 17 million copies since its release in October. Still, like any big gaming title today, Red Dead Redemption 2 was not without its technical problems and glitches in need of patching. Now, with Red Dead Online available for everyone who owns the game, Rockstar has finally released a new patch that addresses a lot of the game’s biggest issues.

Released on November 29 and announced by Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption 2 received update 1.01. The biggest fixes from this update include a bug that would see companion Molly disappear from the camp after the mission “American Distillation,” as well as a bug where multiple companions would disappear after players utilized the retry from checkpoint option during the “Polite Society, Valentine Style” mission. Alongside companion patches include bug fixes for various items, environment and story missions. Overall, there are dozens of various small and large bug fixes for the Rockstar title.

While some fans may have been concerned with the progress of updates for Red Dead Redemption 2 after there was no quick fix to a lot of the aforementioned companion glitches, it’s clear that Rockstar was taking their time and fixing every little bug and glitch they could. Previous updates were much smaller in size and scope, making 1.01 the biggest for Red Dead Redemption 2 thus far. It should make things much easier for players who are still in the midst of the vast 60-hour single player campaign.

Regardless, it’s definitely not going to be the last big update for the game, as Rockstar’s Red Dead Online is still in its beta phase, and the company will more than likely look to address the problems and glitches with that mode before it goes into full release. This will more than likely include certain glitches that make earning money a little too easy, although Rockstar may want to offset this with a better in-game economy, which is arguably one of players’ biggest complaints about Red Dead Online. Either way, with update 1.01, the single player portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 is now at its most complete and bug-free to date.

They had a massive fall-out during the making of Tees Maar Khan, the film that Farah Khan directed after she had a …well, massive fall-out, with her buddy and collaborator Shah Rukh Khan. In fact, Tees Maar Khan was written with Shah Rukh Khan in mind (Tees Maar KHAN, get it?).

As fate would have it, Farah made the film with Akshay Kumar and delivered a rare dud in Kumar’s illustrious career. Both Farah and Akshay swore never to work together again. But then as they say, there are no permanent friendships and enmities in the entertainment industry. We now hear of Farah’s big patch-up with Akshay for a song and dance that she will choreograph in Housefull 4, the laughathon that Farah’s brother Sajid is directing.

A source close to the development says, “It was Farah’s brother Sajid Khan, who is directing Housefull 4, who brought about the patch-up between his sister and Akshay.”

Ironically, Sajid Khan himself had a fall-out with the Housefull producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Khan was sacked from directing Housefull 3. But all seems hunky-dory with the new edition of the franchise.

Housefull indeed.
