The Flash Battles Godspeed In New Season 6 Set Photos

The Flash has been spotted battling Godspeed in season 6 set photos. The season started filming earlier this month; and while the show’s latest season concluded two months ago, it will be returning this fall in time for Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Perhaps one of the most interesting episodes of The Flash season 5 was “Godspeed.” Here, viewers got to see what Nora was up to prior to arriving in the present during the events of season 4. In this episode, Nora battled Godspeed, another sinister speedster. The character is a very recent creation in the comics, so fans were looking forward to seeing him adapted. Unfortunately, he lost in his debut episode. That seemed to be the end, but it looks like Godspeed will be making a comeback in the upcoming season.

Set photos from filming of The Flash’s sixth season have made their way online via, highlighting a conflict with Godspeed. This time, it appears the Flash himself will be colliding with the villain. Check out the images below:

It’s not known how the conflict will occur in the story. Based on the photos, fans may come away with the the assumption that Godspeed will serve as the season’s antagonist. However, it was reported in June that the show’s producers were looking for diverse actors for the role of the big bad. So, it’s possible that Godspeed battles Flash during Crisis on Infinite Earths, then a new villain will later pop up. Or, Godspeed could be the villain of the first few episodes, or a secondary antagonist throughout the season. It could also be that a new person will portray Godspeed. The Flash will likely get a season 6 trailer next week at Comic-Con, so some details should be revealed then.

Many fans were disappointed with how Godspeed was handled last season. The antagonist was very notable when he made his debut in the comics, so it was odd to see him being portrayed as a one-off character. That wasn’t the first time a character was treated like this. Shade, a notable villain from the comics, wasn’t given any development whatsoever in his episode back in season 3. Unlike Shade, Godspeed looks to be coming back with a vengeance. With Reverse Flash already appearing to have a big role coming up in Crisis on Infinite Earth, it will be interesting if Godspeed is included as well. Of course, if Godspeed ends up being a big antagonist outside the crossover event, not many fans would complain.

The Flash season 6 is set to premiere on the CW Tuesday, October 8.

Game of Thrones Prepares For The Battle of Winterfell in Season 8 Photos

The Battle of Winterfell has begun in six new photos from Game of Thrones season 8. The White Walkers and their army of the dead are indeed on their way to overrun Winterfell, where the living are prepared to make their stand. It’s anyone’s guess who will live and who will die when the biggest battle ever on Game of Thrones begins.

Last week’s Game of Thrones episode took a deep breath before the epic battle of all epic battles with a slower episode that, among other things, gave Arya and Gendry a chance to get together before facing almost certain death. The episode also saw Jaime and Brienne sharing a touching moment, as Jaime made his former captor an official Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Of course, the episode also saw Jon Snow finally confessing his lineage to Daenerys, a confession that may have instantly turned Jon from Daenerys’ beloved into her bitterest rival.

Related: Game Of Thrones Theory: The Night King is at King’s Landing, Not Winterfell

Ahead of Sunday night’s premiere, HBO has shared six new images from the next episode, whose title has not been officially revealed (via EW). As one might expect, there isn’t a lot of spoiling going on, but the images definitely tease that there is intense drama to come as the White Walkers arrive. See the images below:

A couple of the shots are taken straight from the previously released Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 teaser, including the image of Jon Snow looking terrified about something, and another one of Brienne and Jaime getting set to fight side by side. There’s also a shot of Jon Snow and Daenerys on a hillside gazing down on the battlefield, presumably getting ready to swoop down with their dragons as part of the plan to lure the Night King into the open by exposing Bran. Sansa clearly figures prominently in the episode as she appears in two images, one alone and one with Arya (is this their final goodbye?). And in a last image, Varys and Tyrion Lannister are huddled together in the crypt, which is presumably the safest place in all of Winterfell (but might in fact be a death trap).

After last week’s episode, which no doubt was the last time some fan-favorite characters will ever be seen enjoying a peaceful moment, the action on Game of Thrones is set to ramp up to levels that have never been seen before. Many characters who have been around for years are undoubtedly going to die in coming weeks, leading to repeated moments of grief for diehard fans. Many theories are also about to be put to the test, as HBO’s classic fantasy series finally comes to a close. When all is said and done, there will no doubt be a lot more surprises as well.

Mark Hamill Surprises Fans With Autographed Photos, Shares Their Reactions

Mark Hamill couldn’t attend the recent Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, so he sent ahead some signed photos that were randomly given to fans at the event. Star Wars Celebration is one of the largest gatherings for Star Wars fans in the world, with this year’s event taking place at McCormick Place in Chicago. Thousands of fans attended the event to get exclusive looks at upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows, as well as have access to exclusive merchandise not available anywhere else.

This year’s event saw some significant reveals, including the first trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Fans reacted to the trailer with loud applause, hugs and even crying, but that was only the first of many surprises in store for them throughout the long weekend. They also got to see the first footage from Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian television series, which will premiere on Disney+. Many Star Wars celebrities were in attendance signing autographs and taking photos with fans, including the prequel movies’ Hayden Christensen, everyone’s favorite Wookie Peter Mayhew, Warwick Davis (who portrayed Wicket the Ewok in the original trilogy, among other characters throughout the franchise) and voice actors from the Star Wars animated series.

Related: George Lucas May Have Already Retconned Palpatine’s Death

Hamill is often a staple at these events, but the stars didn’t align that would allow him to attend this year. Instead, he was there in spirit through a Lucasfilm publicist on the ground in Chicago who was handing out autographed photos to fans. Hamill tweeted some of those fans’ reactions.

Hamill has always maintained a good relationship with Star Wars fans, especially on social media. He also occasionally trolls them, by hinting at plot points that may or may not be true. Hamill appeared most recently in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, with his character fighting off Kylo Ren and the First Order in a projected form before disappearing to, presumably, become one with the Force. However, his character, Luke Skywalker might not be gone for good, with the actor hinting that he might have a cameo in the upcoming movie, although it’s unclear if he will appear as Force ghost, if the scene is a flashback or if he’s joking again.

The next Star Wars Celebration will be in Anaheim in 2020, but the focus of that event will change from this year’s Celebration. The Rise of Skywalker wraps up the Skywalker saga, which includes nine movies, so 2020 attendees should expect less emphasis on films and more focus on TV shows and video games.

Harley Quinn & Renee Montoya Meet Up In New Birds of Prey Set Photos

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn runs away from Rosie Perez’s Renee Montoya in new photos from the set of Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). First announced in May 2016, Birds of Prey will bring back the cinematic Harley Quinn first introduced in 2016’s Suicide Squad. The movie will also bring in more DC characters for their cinematic debuts, including Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) and the villain Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).

The original Birds of Prey comic book team was of course started by Barbara Gordon, but that character is not set to appear in the movie. Instead, the film version of Birds of Prey sees Harley Quinn teaming up with official Birds of Prey members Huntress and Black Canary after Cassandra Cain comes into possession of a diamond belonging to Black Mask and is nabbed by the bad guy. Leaks from the set have already given fans a preview of Harley Quinn’s new look in the movie, as well as a taste of one of the film’s action scenes featuring Quinn in pursuit of Black Mask.

Related: Birds of Prey Costume Teaser Breakdown

In another new set of photos from the movie’s shoot (via Just Jared), Harley Quinn is seen meeting up with another character from DC comics, Renee Montoya. Perez plays Montoya, a Gotham City detective who first appeared in Batman: The Animated Series and later became a more fleshed-out character in the comic books. Click over to Just Jared to see all the leaked photos. Twitter account @bopupdates also has a sampling of the set images showing Perez in action, and also showing Robbie in her whimsical Harley Quinn costume. See the images below:

The new images, among other things, show Robbie taking her Harley Quinn style to new heights with mismatched shoes (which must make running difficult). The whole sequence is a street scene involving a lot of vehicles and Harley Quinn in a hurry to get somewhere. By the looks of things, Renee Montoya is after Quinn, who appears to be running away while carrying a sandwich. Perhaps Montoya surprised Quinn while she was getting lunch, leading to the pursuit. Whatever is happening in the scene, it seems that at this point in the story Harley Quinn is not on the right side of the law. No doubt, there’s a funny story behind how Quinn ended up with two different shoes.

Indeed, humor is expected to play a big part in the movie, a fact that’s reflected in the deliberately ridiculous title. DC has of course been going the humorous route in recent movies, especially this year’s Shazam!, which is already a big hit after a $53 million opening weekend. It will be interesting to see if audiences continue flocking to such humorous takes on DC characters when Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) arrives in theaters.

Star Wars Celebration Chicago: Photos From The Show Floor

After skipping 2018, Star Wars Celebration is back and this time, hosted in Chicago’s McCormick Place. The (nearly) annual gathering brings together Star Wars fans from around the world with merchants, artists, costume designers, writers, droid builders, and even the stars of the movies and television shows.

Star Wars Celebration Chicago might be the biggest year yet for the event – with more major first-look reveals and premiers than ever before – which saw its last two iterations occur in London, England, and Orlando, Florida. We were at both and are back with an even bigger team in 2019 because there’s just so much to cover.

Charlie’s Angels Is A Continuation, Not A Reboot; First Photos Released

Director Elizabeth Banks says her Charlie’s Angels is a continuation rather than a reboot or remake, as first look photos from the movie are released. Premiering in 1976, the original Charlie’s Angels TV series starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith as a trio of female super-spies working for a mysterious figure named Charles Townsend (voiced by John Forsythe). Now viewed as a campy artifact of the ’70s “Jiggle TV” genre, the show would last for five seasons, rotating in different lead actresses including Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts.

Though many decried Charlie’s Angels for its sexism, the show retained enough of a cult following over the years to spawn a 2000 feature film starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. The movie was a hit with $264 million at the global box office, leading to a sequel in 2003’s Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Now, amid a wave of early ’00s franchise revivals, Charlie’s Angels is set to return to theaters with Banks in the director’s chair and a new trio of Angels played by Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska. A first photo of the new Angels was recently released, as the film wrapped shooting.

Related: Charlie’s Angels: Everything We Know About The 2019 Movie Reboot

Speaking to EW about her new take on Charlie’s Angels, writer, director and star Banks addressed the question of whether her movie is actually a reboot or remake. In fact, Banks says it’s neither of those but is in truth a continuation that incorporates the events of both the original series and the two movies directed by McG. As Banks explains it, Charles Townsend is still in business but has simply expanded his reach. “If you were rich in 1976, you only got richer. Charles Townsend is richer than ever, so he’s grown the business into a global spy agency,” she said. In addition to Banks’ remarks, EW also released some new photos from the film which can be seen below:

Indeed, the new movie is set to be more of a globe-trotting adventure in the vein of James Bond, a fact that was teased in a previous photo. The film takes place in Istanbul, Hamburg and Berlin, but according to Banks it’s not simply about hopping the globe. In fact, it’s really about doing a job as a team. As she explained:

“It was important to me to make a movie about women working together and supporting each other, and not make a movie about their romantic entanglements or their mother they don’t call enough. When I’m at work, I don’t talk about those things. I get on with my job. It felt important to do that for the Angels, to treat them with the respect their skill set demands.”

Banks clearly is out to make a new kind of Charlie’s Angels movie for an era where more accurately representing female characters is higher on the agenda than simply playing to the male gaze as the original show and the previous movies may have done. Of course, Banks is the first female writer-director to tackle Charlie’s Angels, so the new version is naturally going to have a more female perspective than previous takes. It will be interesting to see if Charlie’s Angels can carve out a place for itself in this new era where movies like Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel have opened up the door for female-centered action-adventure movies to become blockbusters.

Agents of SHIELD Season 6 Photos Confirm Clark Gregg’s New Character Name

ABC has released a set of promotional images ahead of Agents of SHIELD season 6, and seemingly confirmed the name of the character Clark Gregg will be playing. It’s probably fair to say that Marvel Studios’ television output is going through a transitional phase at present, with Netflix culling its MCU-related content on one hand, and the Disney+ streaming service announcing exciting new ventures on the other. Remaining steadfast throughout all the upheaval is ABC’s Agents of SHIELD, which is currently gearing up to premiere its sixth season, with a seventh, and possibly final, run already confirmed to be in the works.

Viewers will remember that SHIELD season 5 concluded in highly dramatic fashion. Fresh from escaping a post-apocalyptic future and defeating the twisted villain known as Graviton, the time comes for Gregg’s wisecracking father figure, Phil Coulson, to keep his end of the Ghost Rider deal made in season 4. Essentially, Coulson was allowed to borrow Ghost Rider’s powers but, in return, the Spirit of Vengeance demanded Coulson die as nature intended from the wound inflicted by Loki in The Avengers. The final moments of season 5 saw Coulson resigned to his fate, spending his last days on a beach paradise with Melinda May.

Related: Captain America Should Know Coulson Is Alive In The MCU

Despite this, Gregg will be back in SHIELD season 6, but the actor has confirmed that he’ll be playing a different character who’s supposedly a mixture of several influences from the Marvel comics. ABC (via TV Line) have now unveiled some stylish promo shots featuring the main cast: Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson/Quake, Henry Simmons as Director Mackenzie, Natalie Cordova-Buckley as Yo-Yo, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, and Jeff Ward as Deke. Finally, there’s also an image of Clark Gregg, listed as “Sarge.”

Despite the confirmation of Gregg’s new character, the name predictably doesn’t provide too many clues as to his role in season 6. There’s no immediately obvious direct character connection to the Marvel comic books that could reveal exactly who Sarge is, and the title itself is deliberately vague. However, there’s a clear military connection to Gregg’s new character, which might imply that he belongs to some kind of outside special ops division, the likes of which have cropped up in SHIELD on various occasions. In considerably less intriguing news, the photos also reaffirm that Mack has taken over as Director of SHIELD.

The key question regarding Sarge’s role in SHIELD season 6 is why he bears such an uncanny resemblance to Phil Coulson. Is Sarge a Life Model Decoy with a Coulson-shaped shell, or was Coulson’s dead body recovered by a group of shady bad guys and implanted with a new persona? And of course, the question most fans will be desperately asking: will the real Phil Coulson ever return? Considering the success of Captain Marvel, in which Gregg reprises his SHIELD role, it would seem logical to capitalize on the character’s big screen exposure and have him return to the show properly before too long.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Photos: Daenerys Arrives In Winterfell

Everyone’s looking pretty serious in the latest Game of Thrones season 8 photos. Based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R.R. Martin, the HBO series premiered in 2011 and takes place in the (fictional) realms of Westeros and Essos. Now, after seven years of fighting, back-stabbing, and killing one another, the show’s remaining characters must band together to stop the Night King and his army of undead White Walkers from taking over the Seven Kingdoms.

Game of Thrones‘ eighth and final season will span six episodes, including four super-sized entries that run an extra 20 to 30 minutes longer than usual. Much of the season will take place at Winterfell in the North, where the armies of the living and the dead will clash in what’s shaping up to be a properly epic showdown. Given what’s at stake (y’know, just the fate of the world), there’s a whole lot of tension in the air among Winterfell’s residents… and that’s before the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, comes marching in with her two remaining dragons and legion of Unsullied warriors.

Related: Game of Thrones Season 8 Should Destroy the Iron Throne

HBO has released several new photos from Game of Thrones season 8 that show most of the remaining characters looking dead-serious, as Daenerys arrives in Winterfell. Among those featured here are Bran and Sansa Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright and Sophie Turner), Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), Jonah Mormont (Iain Glen), Gendry (Joe Dempsie), and Khaleesi herself (Emilia Clarke).

While everyone’s on the same side for now (namely, that of the living), there’s still a whole lot of tension between the residents of Winterfell. Sansa, for example, is technically breaking Stark tradition by allying with Daenerys. Meanwhile, Bran is waiting to drop a bombshell on Daenerys and her lover Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who are completely unaware that they’re related and that Jon – whose real name is Aegon Targaryen – is the true heir to the Iron Throne, not Daenerys. This begs the larger question: assuming the living are able to defeat the Night King and his White Walkers, what does all this mean for the struggle to claim control of the Seven Kingdoms afterwards?

Suffice it to say, the fighting won’t be over once the Battle of Winterfell is done, regardless of who’s left standing and who ends up six feet under. There’s also the back-burner problem that is Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), who’s biding her time in the South and plotting to attack Daenerys with her mercenary army, The Golden Company of Essos, once the showdown with the Night King is all done… assuming Daenerys is still alive, anyway. But really: after seven years of blood-shed, how else could Game of Thrones conclude but with more back-stabbing, betrayal, and violence?

Some Captain Marvel Photos You’ve Not Seen Before

Marvel releases new Captain Marvel images that fans may not have seen before. The latest MCU film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, an American Air Force pilot who ends up receiving superhuman strength and becomes a member of Starforce, an intergalactic military unit associated with the Kree. Captain Marvel has been certified “Fresh” by Rotten Tomatoes critics.

Set in 1995, MCU’s 21st franchise film establishes the origin story of Danvers, all the while connecting itself to the upcoming Avengers: Endgame and setting the stage for the the franchise’s future. With Larson leading the way as Captain Marvel, the MCU has an Oscar-winning actress set to lead the franchise into Phase Four, and with wide appeal across various demographics. After an extensive promotional campaign, fans have become more than familiar with Captain Marvel set images and movie stills, however there’s more to be seen ahead of the film’s release.

Related: Screen Rant’s Captain Marvel Review

Today, Marvel released a new behind the scenes photo featuring Larson and co-star Samuel L. Jackson, both of whom recently delivered a passionate rendition of A Star Is Born’s “Shallow.” Another photo shows Larson’s Carol Danvers standing before an aircraft. In addition, Marvel released photos that appear to be entirely new: Nick Fury with Goose, Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) drinking a soda, a behind the scenes shot from planet Torfa, and Captain Marvel suspended upside down after being captured by the Skrulls. Check out all the images below.

Now that Captain Marvel has arrived, parents want to know if the film is suitable for young girls. As we recently explained, it depends on the maturity and emotional levels of each child. And for those unfamiliar with the original story premise and movie changes, we’ve detailed the most important information to consider. MCU head Kevin Feige recently announced that he already has some “pretty amazing” ideas for a Captain Marvel sequel, and he’s previously confirmed that Larson’s character will indeed “take the lead” moving forward. Carol Danvers won’t have a chronological arc in the MCU, which allows the studio to incorporate her into future films. After Captain Marvel, the April release of Avengers: Endgame will mark the end of the MCU’s Phase 3, and Phase 4 will begin in July with Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Based on the new Captain Marvel images, Larson and company seemed to thoroughly enjoy the production process. Based on first reviews, audiences seem to be having the same experience in theaters.

Star Trek: Discovery Photos Confirm Georgiou & Klingons Return

Star Trek Discovery - Mirror Universe Georgiou

Fresh images from Star Trek: Discovery season 2, episode 3 highlight the return of the Mirror Universe’s Philippa Georgiou and the Klingon Empire. Since Discovery premiered its second season earlier this month, the narrative has been firmly focused on establishing the overarching plot of this run: the mysterious red angel signals that are popping up all over the galaxy. Anson Mount’s Christopher Pike has been introduced and installed as the temporary captain of the Discovery and while he is yet to fully appear, Spock has been set up as a character currently in crisis.

One absentee so far this season is Mirror Georgiou, the former leader of the Terran Empire. Accidentally plucked from her own universe, Mirror Georgiou helped the Federation defeat the Klingons at the end of season 1 and was consequently set free under strict instructions not to cause too much trouble. Also taking their leave in Discovery‘s season 1 finale were Ash Tyler and L’Rell, who departed on a mission to restore order to the Klingon Empire. This duo are also yet to feature in Discovery‘s sophomore season.

Related: Star Trek: Discovery May Be Explaining Spock’s Original Series Mutiny

Newly released images from CBS now confirm that Georgiou, Tyler and L’Rell will all feature in the forthcoming episode “Point Of Light.” The stills show L’Rell and Tyler among other Klingons, while also revealing a renewed romantic relationship between the two. Georgiou, meanwhile, is seen in a snazzy black uniform with a new character, Alan Van Sprang’s Leland. The collection also includes a picture of Sonequa Martin-Green’s Burnham with her adoptive mother, Amanda.

Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek Discovery

Shazaf Latif as Ash Tyler in Star Trek Discovery

Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham and Mia Kirshner as Amanda Grayson in Star Trek Discovery

L’Rell’s new long hair Klingon look was revealed prior to the season 2 premiere and will evidently be on full display in this week’s episode. Interestingly, Ash Tyler has also grown out his locks into some kind of mini ponytail that The Walking Dead‘s Jesus would be proud of. L’Rell was romantically involved with Tyler when he was still known as the Klingon Voq, and it’s interesting to see that spark rekindled, since Ash and Burnham previously developed feelings for each other during their time on the Discovery. These images perhaps suggest that Ash is over his relationship with Starfleet’s first mutineer.

It’s also fascinating to see Georgiou return to the Discovery fold, as CBS have already announced that the character will be getting her own spinoff series in the near future. The Georgiou solo series is confirmed to focus on the former Emperor’s recruitment into the Section 31 clandestine squad, but it appears that the nucleus of that story will first be explored in Star Trek: Discovery.
